Adaware

Adaware from Lavasoft is a recommended program for checking for spyware, malware etc.

Manually updating definitions for Ad-Aware SE Personal:

• go to www.lavasoft.com 
• Click on Update now (on right hand side below Current Definition File)
• Save the file to disk - remember where you save it to eg desktop
• Open the file: defs.zip
• Paste defs.ref into the folder where adaware is installed. {This is usually c:\program files\lavasoft\Ad-Aware SE Personal}

When you run the program next it will use the definitions file you have just pasted.

Updating definitions for several computers

After opening the defs.zip file - save the defs.ref file in a shared folder on your network.

Then copy the definitions from there to the Ad-Aware SE Personal folder on each computer.
